In March of 2021, in conjunction with National Groundwater Awareness Week, Webtrol donated $10 per pump sold that week to the Water Well Trust. These funds were earmarked for Mrs. E., who applied to the Water Well Trust for assistance. This would help lower the cost of her well installation and cut her monthly payments in half.
Mrs. E. is a legally blind widow and cancer survivor who has been without clean drinking water for over a year. During early 2020, her well collapsed and was not operable. Since that time she has been hauling water via jugs from her 42-gallon tank to her kitchen and bathroom for her daily needs. Her fixed income didn’t allow her the opportunity to have a new well drilled, nor obtain traditional financing.
After hearing Mrs. E.’s story, Webtrol decided to pay off the balance of her loan so she could enjoy her new well without the worry of a monthly payment. The total donation covered a completely new well system including equipment, well drilling, and pump installation. Webtrol was able to do so with the unused trade show funds due to show cancellations in 2020 in the midst of the Covid-19 epidemic.
The Water Well Trust provides low interest loans to low-income families or individuals that have wells that are no longer functioning properly, have contamination issues that render the well unusable, or have no well or safe water source.
