Packaged pump skid systems are an increasingly popular solution for industrial water handling. They are customized to match your unique pumping requirements and fit into your available space.
Modular skid systems are built off-site where the components are fabricated and fitted onto the frame. The entire pump system - pump(s), motor, piping, valves, control panel – are assembled onto a steel supporting skid. The packaged skid system is then delivered to your facility where it is installed.
Here is what to consider when having a packaged skid system built:
Centrifugal Pumps
At the heart of the unit are the centrifugal pumps. So above all, be sure to match the pumps to your requirements for flow rate, motor size, head, etc. Many skid systems benefit from vertical booster pumps when limited floor space is an issue, especially when you are building a duplex or triplex skid.
Control Panel and Enclosure
The control panel protects a number of vital electronics such as the disconnect switch, motor soft starters, control transformer, power supply, selector switches, and relays that need protection. Using the correct NEMA enclosure to protect them from dust, moisture, or other elements in your particular environment will be important.
Existing Environment
Many times floor space is an issue when designing the skid system. Be sure its footprint will fit in the allotted space. If there is any question, be sure to measure the space and include it in the requirements.
Be prepared. Check that the pathways and door openings to the final destination will accommodate the unit when it is brought in by forklift or crane. Our skids include fork tube pockets on all ends along with integrated lifting lugs to ensure you can position the skid in its place.
Delivery
The system will arrive fully assembled and wired and ready to install with the appropriate power supply, existing plumbing, and infrastructure per the initial design plan.
